2007 sees the launch of Issue 6 of Pushing
Out the Boat, North-East Scotland's own prestigious magazine of new
writing. This event is not to be missed! Why not come and join us, enjoy a
glass of wine and listen to some of the best writers in the North-East reading
from their own work in the pleasant surroundings of Woodend Barn. The previous
five volumes proved highly successful and we believe this one to be even
better. Copies will be available for purchase.
What the reviewers said of Issue 5
Well-produced, nicely balanced in terms of content, this is one of the most
attractive magazines of its kind in Scotland, providing an important forum for
new poetry and prose.
Alan Spence, writer and Artistic Director,
Word, the University of Aberdeen Writers' Festival
Yet again it looks great. I got quite excited when it came through and couldn't
wait to get five minutes to sit down with it. I have been impressed by the
continuing high standard. My congratulations to the editorial team.
