Wordfringe Spring Events
March 2010
|
|
|
This year the Wordfringe
festival is transformed into New
Words, which takes place in September instead of May. We do, however, still
have a short series of performances and workshops in the Spring. These events take
place at venues across Aberdeenshire, and feature a variety of writers with strong
connections to the North-East.
The ever popular poet Kenneth Steven appears in Inverurie with local fiddle player
Daniel Thorpe, recently named BBC Young Traditional Musician 2010. George Gunn of
Grey Coast Theatre leads a workshop on playwriting, there's a poetry workshop from
John Glenday, whose new collection Grain has received much praise, and we
have a workshop on novel writing given by local crime writer Bill Kirton.
The full programme for New Words
2010 will be announced in July, and the Wordfringe Noticeboard lists events of literary interest
throughout the year.
