Wendy Ivers introduces the Comedy Capers Showcase II, a unique show featuring a handpicked mix of the funniest and most established stand up comedians and character acts in the North-East. Ranging from the political to the particular, from the dark to the clever and from the surreal to the ridiculous each performer will present the best bits from their tried and tested comedy sets. Audiences will delight at the depth and diversity of comedy talent on display that is on a par with anything produced elsewhere in the UK.

See www.comedy-capers.co.uk for listings and biographies of the featured artists.

Wendy Ivers

Wendy Ivers is a natural compere who works as well with tame audiences as she does with the worst bear pits. Likened to a cross between Phil Kay and Jenny Éclair, Wendy has never done quite the same set twice as her comedy is a spontaneous story-telling rant revealing bizarre and frustratingly funny ideas and experiences. Her ludicrous confessions take audiences on a trip into her current state of mind covering topics as diverse as politics and human rights, sweat shops and shoplifting, bikini waxing and pube trimming, and whatever she's been pondering in the run up to the show.

She kicked off the gig, settled the hecklers hash and rattled gags like a Gatling gun. She was fast, furious, filthy and very funny (Evening Express)

A highly commended performance, Wendy has a great future (Jongleurs Spokesperson)
