An evening star-studded with poets at Books and Beans for the launch of There's a
Bairn in My Broth — the latest fund-raising book of poetry, recipes
and drawings in aid of CHILDREN 1ST where every penny
raised will go to the charity. A fun-filled and wine-swilled event that had the
audience sometimes in fits of laughter or in silence at some truly awe-inspiring
and thought-provoking verse. Wordfringe regulars Haworth Hodgkinson, Judith Taylor,
and Douglas Kynoch were joined by Sheila Templeton, Kathleen Creighton, and many
others.
The event also included the Koo Press quiz prize draw where three prizes of amethyst,
pearl and diamond were scooped by three lucky winners.
A sparkling end to Wordfringe 2008 and a promise of more to come from the rich literary
talent of Aberdeen and the North-East.
Watch this space!
